Retro Revival: shoe must-haves for FW24
The Playground as desert chic backdrop
After previous successful shoots in The Playground and The Loft, Nelson returned to Atelier Oost Amsterdam for their FW24 campaign. This time for a specific reason: the recent transformation of The Playground.. Its new desert-inspired colour palette and flexible layout perfectly complemented the retro vibe Nelson had in mind.
“The studio is spacious, and the high ceiling gives you all the freedom to get creative,” says Nelson’s Senior Marketer, Brigit.With movable walls and designer furniture, they could endlessly vary compositions, resulting in a dynamic and versatile shoot. Three intensive days for the perfect shots
For a campaign running from September to mid-November, a large variety of imagery was needed. This had to showcase the versatility of the shoe collection and be used across various channels: from in-store visuals and online content to social media and the lookbook. Nelson decided to capture the entire campaign in three days, with two days for photography and one for video production was.
The photography process focused on both atmospheric shots and product images. The atmospheric shots featured fully styled models, inspiring customers not only to follow the latest shoe trends but also to complete their whole look. The product photos highlighted the details, showcasing each design in its best light. “It’s extremely important to us that the shoes are fully visible in all their facets,” says Brigit.
