In today’s digital world, we all know that visual content is key for every entrepreneur. Photography plays a significant role in enhancing your brand identity, but videography is equally important for attracting customers and increasing conversions. But did you know that combining photography and videography during a single shoot can give you a major advantage? At our versatile photo studio , we offer exactly that. In this blog, you’ll discover why this is essential for your business and how we can help you get the most out of your production.
Why photography and videography are essential for entrepreneurs
By booking a shoot that covers both photography and videography, you save time and costs while maintaining brand consistency. At Atelier Oost Amsterdam, we recommend booking multiple days: one day for photography and one day for videography. This allows you to make the most of the natural light and the different angles of the studio, without compromising on quality. Plus, our spacious studio gives you the chance to work from multiple perspectives, all in one location.
Our spacious daylight studios provide the perfect setting to combine both photo and video productions. You can work from different areas, ensuring there’s always enough room to capture both still and moving images, either simultaneously or at separate times. This flexibility makes the studio ideal for creating both social media content and high-quality website visuals. And since we understand that lighting is crucial for both disciplines, you can choose separate days to make the best use of the natural light and the space.
Meet Emmely Brand: conceptual & creative videographer
To give you more insight into the power of video and why our studio is perfect for your next production, we spoke with Emmely Brand. Emmely is a leading videographer known for her distinctive, high-end style. She’s also a true friend of Atelier Oost Amsterdam, and as such, she’s well-placed to offer advice! You may recognise her from our recent campaign visuals shot at The Playground.
Emmely, how would you describe your signature style? How can someone recognise your work?
'My work is known for its simplicity in its purest form. It’s elegant, stylish, and of high quality. You can feel the emotions through the images."
Is there a difference between video for social media and websites?
"Yes, social media videos are usually short, punchy, and vertically oriented. Website videos tend to be longer and horizontal, allowing for more in-depth storytelling. I often create a combination of longer campaign videos and short social media snippets for my clients."
You’ve recently been in The Playground again for our latest campaign video. How does this space make you feel, and why is it ideal for video productions?
"The Playground gives me a sense of creative freedom and playfulness, combined with a high level of quality. The spacious layout and serene atmosphere immediately put you at ease, making the creative process flow effortlessly. In a recent production, we were able to create four different sets in a single day, thanks to the studio’s flexible layout. This made it possible to quickly switch between settings without needing to change locations."
"Working with Alina is always smooth. We complement each other perfectly: she captures the power of still images, while I focus on movement and atmosphere. This ensures that the client gets the best of both worlds in terms of photography and videography."
Do you have any expert tips for entrepreneurs who want to work more with video?
"Always determine your goal first. Know what you want to achieve with your video: brand awareness, lead generation, an atmospheric impression, or a practical instructional video. This will shape your entire approach, from content and style to the platforms you choose to share it on."
