“It’s not a shoot,” Pauline clarifies. “It’s a true experience. A reminder of who you are when you peel back the layers that no longer serve you.” What Pauline does may seem like photography at first glance, but it’s so much more. She helps women truly see themselves—not as they think they should be, but as they are, deep within. We asked Pauline all about her journey, the meaningful nature of her work, and of course, her creative experience in The Livingroom.
From hobby to mission: Pauline’s transformation into Intentional Photography
“I saw how a single photo could help someone see who they truly are. And that’s exactly what I aim for in coaching too,” Pauline shares. That realisation sparked an idea: what if she could combine her coaching expertise with photography? And so, Intentional Photography was born—imagery with deeper purpose and a personal mission.
How Intentional Photography helps women reconnect with their true selves
In a world that often demands conformity and role-playing, many women lose touch with themselves. Limiting beliefs such as “I’m not good enough”, “I have to be strong”, or “I’m not allowed to make mistakes” keep them small. “These beliefs often take root in childhood, shaped by what we’ve absorbed from the outside world,” Pauline explains. “They unconsciously guide our decisions and can lead to exhaustion, frustration, or feeling stuck.”
Intentional Photography offers an antidote to that sense of disconnection. It begins with awareness—exploring together who you are beneath the stories and expectations. Then comes the embodiment of your truth in a photoshoot: a safe, loving experience where you reclaim your power. Pauline says: “The most beautiful thing you can become is yourself. And that’s what I witness during my sessions. Women begin to own their authenticity—not just in the images, but in their daily lives too.”
A session consists of three parts: an initial coaching conversation to explore limiting patterns and personal values, the photoshoot itself, and a closing session where insights and images are integrated into your everyday life. It’s a journey of self-discovery that extends far beyond the photographs—it reaches into the very heart of your being.
The power of a natural light studio for personal shoots
For Pauline, the right environment is essential. Her client chose The Livingroom, the atmospheric daylight studio of Atelier Oost Amsterdam—something Pauline was especially pleased about, as she lists the studio among her favourites. “This space feels like a warm home—a canvas for your story to come to life,” she explains. “With its natural light, calming colours, aesthetic props and intimate atmosphere, it’s the ideal setting for a vulnerable yet powerful process.”On location, Pauline isn’t just a photographer—she’s a spaceholder. “We step into a creative bubble together, where I provide the safety you need to express yourself—exactly as you are. That happens so naturally here in The Livingroom. The studio offers privacy, tranquillity, and comfort—all crucial for a process of deep personal growth. It fosters openness and trust, allowing for a photo—and life—experience in which you feel safe enough to truly be yourself.”
What moves Pauline most in her work are the stories of the women she works with. “They tell me they finally feel like they’re allowed to be themselves, that they’ve found peace, built confidence, and are ready to walk their own path. It’s extraordinary to witness how this process can transform lives.” Still, she understands how daunting that first step can feel. “You don’t have to have it all figured out. It starts with one courageous choice—to listen to what your heart is telling you. From there, we take the next step together.”
She warmly invites every woman who feels it’s time for change, but may still be hesitating: “You’re not alone. This is not about performing—it’s a nurturing experience where you’re free to explore both your strength and softness. Let yourself be seen and be. Because you deserve to live your own beautiful story.”
