At Atelier Oost Amsterdam, we believe a creative space should never stand still. Creativity is constantly evolving, and our studios should evolve with it. Over the past few months, we've been working behind the scenes on an exciting refresh of The Playground, one of our most loved studio spaces.
From June 10, we'll be welcoming you into a renewed environment that feels familiar while offering an entirely new source of inspiration.
An evolution of The Playground
When we first created The Playground, our goal was to design a studio that felt versatile, playful and timeless. A space where photographers, filmmakers, brands and creators could bring their ideas to life. Over the years, The Playground has hosted hundreds of productions, from commercial campaigns and content shoots to editorials, interviews and television productions.
Yes… The Playground has already been open for 3 years! Time for something new. With this restyle, we are building on that strong foundation.
The recognizable layout remains the same, while three walls receive new colours, warm wooden paneling is introduced and part of the furniture collection is updated. The result is a softer, more refined atmosphere that aligns beautifully with today's trends in photography, fashion and content creation.
A new bedroom corner
One of the most exciting additions is a stylish bedroom setting designed specifically for evening wear campaigns, maternity sessions, boudoir photography and editorial productions.
Over the past years, we've seen growing demand for environments that feel elegant, intimate and sophisticated. This new corner offers exactly that. It creates a beautiful backdrop where softness, luxury and storytelling come together, while remaining flexible enough to adapt to a wide variety of creative concepts.
A new lounge featuring Ligne Roset Togo
Our lounge area is also receiving a complete makeover.
We're introducing the iconic Ligne Roset Togo sofas, a true design classic loved worldwide for its sculptural silhouette and relaxed elegance. Combined with two carefully styled cabinets filled with accessories and decorative pieces, this new setting creates endless opportunities for lifestyle photography, interviews, campaigns and social content.
These additions give photographers and videographers endless possibilities to create different looks within a single studio. And you can also place the furniture against other walls in the studio for even more of your own images.
The creative process
Today, we're excited to share the moodboard that inspired this transformation. It became the foundation for every decision we made, from colour palettes and materials to furniture and styling.
Over the coming weeks, we'll take you behind the scenes of the transformation. Through our newsletter, social channels and website, we'll share sneak peeks of the process as well as before and after images of the final result.

Our own campaign shoot
To capture the refreshed space at its very best, we're producing our own campaign shoot on June 13. Campaign shoot.
For this production, we're once again partnering with a team we absolutely love working with: videographer Emmely Brand, photographer Alina Krasieva and art director Edith Scharloo. Together, they will bring the new vision of The Playground to life and showcase the endless possibilities of the renewed space.
We can't wait to share the results with you.
