When you look at photographer Kimberly<\/a> \u2019s work, one thing stands out immediately: authenticity.\nThere\u2019s no excessive styling or heavy editing \u2014 just honest images in which women recognise themselves. Powerful, gentle, sensual, and pure. At the heart of her work lies connection: with her models, with the moment, and with the natural light she so lovingly embraces in her visual language.\nWe spoke with Kimberly about her inspiration, her vision of feminine strength<\/a> , and her experience shooting in our daylight studio.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cI want women to feel proud and empowered through the images we create together,\u201d<\/i> Kimberly shares. That desire didn\u2019t come out of nowhere \u2014 it\u2019s deeply rooted in her own experiences of pregnancy and motherhood. \u201cBefore I became pregnant, I was a real fit girl. I used to worry about how my body would change. But as my belly started to grow, I felt beautiful, feminine, and strong.\u201d <\/i>Due to the lockdown, professional shoots weren\u2019t possible, so Kimberly documented her pregnancy herself. \u201cThose photos mean so much to me. I want other women to have that feeling too.\u201d<\/i>

\nThis personal connection influences the way Kimberly approaches her models \u2014 with understanding and tenderness. \"Many women tell me beforehand, \u2018I don\u2019t feel beautiful,\u2019 or \u2018My photos won\u2019t look like the ones on your Instagram.\u2019 But I know how powerful it is to see yourself in such a unique moment of your life. \nKimberly\u2019s signature style is defined by her use of natural light and her preference for simplicity. \u201cI truly believe the strength of my images lies in their honesty\", <\/i>she explains. \u201cBy working with daylight, minimal retouching, and no over-the-top styling, I show women how beautiful they are \u2014 exactly as they are.\u201d<\/i>

\nA space that perfectly aligns with her vision is The Livingroom at Atelier Oost Amsterdam. Kimberly is full of praise for the studio: \u201cIt\u2019s such a wonderful place to work in. The natural light that pours through the large windows is magical. The way light and shadow play together adds so much atmosphere to the images.\u201d<\/i>

\nIt\u2019s not just the light, but also the carefully curated details<\/a> that enhance the experience. \u201cThe textured walls, the muted tones, the designer chairs \u2014 everything just fits. It\u2019s a space where I feel completely in my element. A shoot built on trust<\/h2>\nWorking with Kimberly means stepping into an atmosphere of trust. \u201cI always put on a nice playlist to break the ice. We chat, we laugh, and we take our time. It shouldn\u2019t feel like \u2018posing\u2019 \u2014 it should feel like a relaxed moment together. And that shows in the photos: women who dare to be themselves.\u201d<\/i>\nThat trust is reflected in the reactions Kimberly receives. \u201cSometimes I get messages like, \u2018Wow, is that really me?!\u2019 That always touches me. Just recently, someone watched a behind-the-scenes video and said, \u2018You can really see how relaxed I was.\u2019 That\u2019s the best kind of compliment.\u201d<\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\nIn addition to maternity and portrait photography, Kimberly also documents births \u2014 one of the most intimate and vulnerable moments a photographer can witness. \u201cIt\u2019s an incredible honour to be trusted with something so special,\u201d<\/i> she explains. \u201cI do my best to be prepared. As soon as I go on stand-by, I rearrange my whole schedule. My camera bag goes everywhere with me \u2014 you never know when it\u2019s going to start.\u201d<\/i>

\nWhether it\u2019s a birth or a portrait session, Kimberly wants to make the strength of women visible. \u201cSince my own pregnancies, I see women even more as the superheroes they are. Sensual and sexy can absolutely be powerful too \u2014 without feeling forced or fake.\u201d<\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
